SafeHer ("we," "our," or "us") is a personal safety application developed and operated by SafeHer Technologies Private Limited, registered in India. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you use the SafeHer mobile application and associated services (collectively, the "Platform").

By downloading, installing, or using SafeHer, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the application and discontinue use.

Plain-language summary: We collect only what is necessary to keep you safe. We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. Your audio and video recordings are encrypted and exist solely to protect you.

This Policy complies with the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 ("SPDI Rules") and applicable provisions of the Information Technology Act, 2000, and is designed to align with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDPA") as it comes into force.

Important: Emergency recordings begin only upon SOS trigger. They are never collected during normal app usage. A 5-second cancellation window is provided before any alert or recording is finalised.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

When SOS is triggered, your GPS coordinates and a safety alert message are shared with the emergency contacts you have designated. You control who these contacts are at all times.

We engage third-party processors to operate the Platform. All processors are contractually bound to data protection obligations consistent with this Policy:

We may disclose data to law enforcement, courts, or government authorities where required by applicable Indian law (including court orders, warrants, or statutory obligations), or where disclosure is necessary to prevent imminent harm to life or safety.

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred to the successor entity, which will remain bound by this Policy or a policy no less protective.

4.5 Aggregated / Anonymised Data

We may share de-identified, aggregated statistics (e.g., number of SOS events by city) with NGO partners or institutions for safety research. No individual can be identified from such data.

8. Children and Minors (Ages 8–18)

No system is perfectly secure. While we take every reasonable precaution, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You should use a strong, unique password for your Google account and keep your device locked.
